Capital University football senior Nate Nasrallah was recently a recipient of a National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame Scholar Athlete award and was recognized at the organization's 52nd annual banquet in late February.

Nasrallah, who in December became the Crusaders' first Capital One (CoSIDA) Academic All-American since 2006, was one of several student-athletes from area institutions recognized by the NFF Columbus Chapter at the event, which was held in the Archie Griffin Ballroom at the Ohio State Union in Columbus.

Nasrallah earned his second honorable mention All-Ohio Athletic Conference selection in 2012 after leading the team and ranking third in the league with nine sacks. The defensive lineman also posted 50 tackles, including 11 for a loss, and a forced fumble.

In addition to his on-field accomplishments, Nasrallah exhibited success off the gridiron. A philosophy and pre-law major with minors in history and political science, Nasrallah currently maintains a 3.97 grade point average on a 4.0 scale. He has also been an active participant in the team's community service projects, including the Marc Levinson ALS Run/Walk and the Special Olympics Days at Capital.

Nasrallah qualified for Academic All-America status after earning first team Academic All-District accolades, the program's second such honoree in as many years.
