The Capital University men's tennis team experienced a plethora of success over the weekend at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Regional Championships in Crawfordsville, Ind.

Senior John Murray (Bolingbrook, Ill.; at right) was victorious in the consolation bracket in the singles "B" flight to highlight the team's final competition of the fall.

After losing his first match, Murray won five straight, including one by default, to win the backdraw. He defeated Johnny Gibson of DePauw 3-6, 6-1, 1-0 (10-7) in the final match.

Murray teamed with sophomore Kenny Duncan (Poland, Ohio) to take two matches in the "B" doubles flight. Duncan won one of three matches in the singles "A" flight.

Freshmen Luke Buchanan and Spencer Walter also competed in the three-day tournament. The two combined for a doubles victory in the "A" flight, but were each winless in their respective singles draws.

The Crusaders return to action in the spring. The team's first match of 2013 is scheduled for Feb. 16 at Ohio Wesleyan.
