Capital University freshmen Luke Buchanan and Spencer Walter were selected to the 2013 All-Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Tennis teams, the league announced Wednesday, May 15.

Buchanan (Westerville, Ohio) earned second team accolades, while Walter, a Hilliard, Ohio, native, was tabbed honorable mention.

The pair helped the Crusaders enjoy their most successful season in more than a decade. Capital finished 13-6 overall and 7-2 in the OAC, earning the No. 2 seed in the OAC Tournament, where the team reached the tournament semifinals at Lindner Tennis Center in Mason.

Buchanan finished tied for fourth on the team with nine wins, playing predominantly at the No. 1 singles spot. He won four times in regular season conference play and posted a key victory in the Crusaders' 5-4 victory over Augustana (Ill.), one of the region's top teams, on Feb. 25 in Kissimmee, Fla.

Walter tied for the team lead in wins with a 14-6 mark, including a 7-1 record in conference regular season matches, playing at the Nos. 3 and 4 positions. He also posted a singles triumph in the Augustana match and was unbeaten in three matches in Florida.

Buchanan and Walter teamed up for 12 wins, including a 9-8 record at the No. 1 spot in dual matches. The pair was 5-3 in conference play, including a crucial 9-7 victory in Capital's 5-4 win over cross-town rival Otterbein to close the regular season.

Joe Horvath of Baldwin Wallace earned OAC Player of the Year honors, while Ohio Northern's Bob Rohan was selected Coach of the Year.
