Four members of the Capital University track & field team, including two who participated on the cross country team, were selected to the 2012 Cross Country/Track & Field Academic All-OAC teams, the league announced Wednesday, May 23.

For the women, senior Sarah Trick (Tipp City, Ohio) and junior Emily Sheets (Gahanna, Ohio) were named to the first team, while junior Aimee Hall (Amanda, Ohio) earned honorable mention accolades.

Senior Alex Moore (Hilliard, Ohio) represented the men's side with honorable mention distinction.

Trick, a member of both the track & field and cross country teams for four years, was also an Academic All-OAC selection in 2011. A four-time OAC champion in the 800-meter run, Trick holds five indoor and outdoor school records in the 800, 4x400-meter relay and distance medley relay. She is a four-time Great Lakes Regional qualifier in cross country.

Trick graduated in May with a bachelor's in art, and carried a 3.88 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale. She was also active in the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) throughout her tenure at Capital.

Sheets posted the 33rd-best time in the nation in the discus throw this season, and currently holds four school records in the high jump, pentathlon and discus. A 2011 Capital One Academic All-District second team honoree by CoSIDA, Sheets was the OAC Field Athlete of the Meet at the OAC Outdoor Championships in 2011 after winning the high jump and placing in the top five in the discus.

Sheets is majoring in nursing with a minor in psychology, and currently owns a 3.94 GPA.

A sprinter, Hall placed in the top four at the OAC Outdoor Championships in the 100- and 200-meter dashes, and the 4x100- and 4x400-meter relays. She is a part of three school records, including the 4x400 (indoor and outdoor) and the distance medley relay teams.

Along with Trick, Hall was a part of this year's 4x400 squad that posted the 26th-best time in the country, missing out on qualifying for the NCAA Championships by just over a second.

Hall holds a cumulative GPA of 3.74 and is majoring in English and Education.

Moore recently wrapped up his four-year career on the track & field and cross country teams as the indoor school record holder in the 5,000-meter run. He also possesses the ninth-best cross country time in school history and was a four-time Great Lakes Regional qualifier. During the outdoor season, Moore recorded personal-best marks in the 10,000-meter run and 3,000-meter steeplechase, winning each respective meet event.

Moore graduated earlier this month with a bachelor's in biology, and registered a 3.50 GPA.

Award winners were selected by the OAC faculty athletic representatives. To be eligible, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.25 GPA, be a starter or key reserve and be in at least his or her second year of participation in the sport.
