Capital University senior Shannon Quinn has been selected to the 2012 All-Ohio Athletic Conference Volleyball second team, the league announced at the conference tournament final on Saturday, Nov. 3.

Quinn, a libero from Miamisburg, Ohio, entered last week ranked No. 1 in all of NCAA Division III in digs per set with 6.73, concluding the season with 761 digs total. She helped the Crusaders reach the OAC Tournament quarterfinal and post an 11-21 overall record, including a 3-6 mark in league play, this season.

"We're really proud of Shannon for all her hard work and her contributions to the volleyball program over the last four years," Capital coach Pam Briggs said. "Her energy, enthusiasm and aggressiveness on the floor will be sorely missed."

After coming off the bench in 2011, Quinn flourished as the team's starting libero this season, posting four matches of more than 40 digs, including a career-high 48 against Marietta on Oct. 16. She earned All-Tournament team honors at the Capital-Otterbein Opener (Aug. 31-Sept. 1) and the Manchester Tournament (Sept. 14-15), where Capital won all four of its matches to capture the tournament championship.

Last season, Quinn earned Academic All-OAC honorable mention accolades after appearing in all 32 of the team's matches and earning All-Tournament team accolades at Manchester.

Mount Union, the league's regular season champion, took home three of the four individual conference awards and held two of the six spots on the All-OAC first team. Runner-up Otterbein, which defeated the Crusaders on its way to the OAC Tournament title, also had two named to the first team.
