Capital University junior Maggie Donnellan was named Ohio Athletic Conference Goalkeeper of the Year for the second straight season while four others were tabbed All-OAC as the league announced its all-conference women's soccer teams on Thursday, Nov. 8.

Senior Natalie Fiorelli (Pickerington, Ohio) and freshman Mariah Richards (Canton, Ohio) were selected second team All-OAC, and junior Corey McClellan (Columbus, Ohio) and freshman Rachael Wintering (Lewis Center, Ohio) received honorable mention.

The Crusaders finished their 2012 season last week with a 10-8-2 overall record, including a 5-3-1 mark in conference play and a 2-1 victory over NCAA Tournament qualifier Ohio Northern. Capital finished third in the league standings and looked to defend their 2011 title at the OAC Tournament, where they were knocked off on penalty kicks against John Carroll in the quarterfinals.

"We're very excited to have five players recognized by the OAC," Capital coach Chris Kouns. "We didn't go as far as we did last year as a team, but to have five players earn All-OAC shows this year was a complete team effort."

Donnellan (at right), a Cincinnati, Ohio, native, finished with a 0.98 goals against average and a save percentage of .802, which ranks third in the league. Donnellan, who was All-OAC honorable mention as a freshman in 2010 and a first team honoree in 2011, posted two shutouts and helped the Crusaders record five shutouts as a team.

"I'd certainly like to congratulate Maggie on receiving OAC Goalkeeper of the Year and first team all-conference for the second year in a row," Kouns said. "Hopefully this encourages her and the rest of the team to work in the offseason ad take the next step."

Fiorelli, who was also named second team All-OAC in 2010 and is a two-time Academic All-OAC winner in her career, led the team and ranked in the top five in the league with nine goals, including a pair of game-winners, and 18 points for the season. The forward was named OAC Player of the Week on Sept. 17 after posting four goals in two matches, including a hat trick against Penn State Altoona on Sept. 12.

Richards, a defensive midfielder, finished the year with nine points on three goals and three assists. She posted game-winning tallies on Sept. 14 against Defiance and at Heidelberg on Oct. 6, and started all 18 matches she appeared in.

A three-year starting central defender, McClellan scored goals in each of Capital's first two games of the season at Earlham (Aug. 31) and at Anderson (Sept. 1). She started all 20 of the Crusaders' matches and was a key component of the defense.

Like Richards, Wintering also thrived in the clutch, registering game-winning goals at Anderson (Sept. 1) and against OAC Tournament champion Ohio Northern (Oct. 3). She finished the year with three goals and one assist for seven points in 20 matches played, all starts.

Ohio Northern captured two of the league's five Special Awards, with John Carroll and OAC regular season champion Otterbein collecting the remaining two.
