Capital University head football coach Henry Stanford and a pair of the team's senior captains will be on hand for the Ohio Athletic Conference Football Media Preview this Wednesday, Aug. 8, at the Doubletree Hilton in Independence, Ohio.
Stanford, who enters his third season at the helm of the Crusaders, will be accompanied by seniors Tyler Dugan (Columbus, Ohio/Groveport Madison; at right) and Matt DeMore (Twinsburg, Ohio/Twinsburg).
Players, coaches and other representatives from each of the OAC's 10 institutions are slated to attend the preview to address media on hand, take questions and photos and record the OAC Football Preview Show.
The OAC Football Preview Show will air on regional sports television network SportsTime Ohio on Wednesday, Aug. 22 at 10 p.m. and again on Friday, Aug. 24 at 3:30 p.m. The 60-minute show is taped and produced by S&S Video Productions and will break down all 10 teams, including the 2012 Crusaders.
Dugan, a linebacker, returns as one of the team's top defenders. Last season, he finished second on the team with 58 tackles, including 3.5 for a loss, as well as an interception. DeMore anchors an offensive line that protected the league's No. 1 ranked passing offense (260.2 yards per game) in 2011.
The general session is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. with remarks from each of the league's coaches as well as one member of each team. Following lunch, coordinator of OAC officials Steve Furniss will brief those in attendance on rule changes.
The day concludes with the announcement of OAC preseason poll results and comments from the coach whose team is the preseason favorite. Coaches and student-athletes will also be made available for individual interviews at this time.
